The Fabric Stamping Handbook: Fun Projects, Tips & Tricks, Unlimited Possibilities

[[[The Fabric Stamping Handbook: Fun Projects, Tips & Tricks, Unlimited Possibilities]]]

Discription : Discover the magical world of fabric stamping with these six fun, easy-to-learn projects! Stamp printing on fabric offers endless creativity and fresh design inspiration. In this remarkable guide, leading quilting teacher and author Jean Ray Laury shares her secrets for using rubber stamps and more in a whole new way, demonstrating how easy it is to print on fabric to make one-of-a-kind quilts, garments, and accessories. This guide to stamping on fabric comes complete with step-by-step instructions and dozens of how-to photographs for each step of the process, from lettering to all-over designs and everything in between. You'll also find everything you need to know about materials, paints, and supplies-plus helpful resource lists to help you locate whatever you need.

More review soon.

I like this book most because it provides a wide variety of creative projects. The techniques also can transfer to mediums other than fabric. The one drawback is that some projects have better descriptions and instructions than others. The author provides a good description of the tools and materials necessary to do fabric stamping at the begining of the book, but the book does not give instructions for some steps that more experienced crafters might already know. Despite this drawback, I found the book to be inspiring. So, overall I think it is a good book, but those readers who are beginners might want to start with another book and come back to this one.

E3 10: Hands-on Nail'd

06/21/2010 E3 10: Hands-on Nail'd

E3 10: Hands-on Nail'd screenshot

I typically don't get along with "realistic" racing games, but I'll love any good racer that does something a little over-the-top. This is why I am somewhat drawn to Nail'd, a new bike racing game from Southpeak Interactive. It trades in realistic physics for sheer speed, and surprisingly it works out quite well.

Read about some of the practical experience Nail '\\' r .

Nail'dis, in essence, ATVs zooming through the mud and getting into all sorts of silly high speed. Realism was abandoned in favor of an incredibly high jumps, riding on the roofs of cars, and faster than anyone else. Its controls are standard, you don 't have to worry about how to drifting, and in general Nail'doccurs as the racing title for people who usually don 't like racing games. It 's pretty cool, actually.

I do not drive t ', and I hate having to worry about the realistic physics of driving in my racing games. If I wanted realistic driving experience, I 'D to get a real car. Nail'd most definitely appeals to somebody like myself, a person who enjoys the speedy thrills of a racing title, but doesn't really want anything else.

Aside from the racing, the only other thing to be concerned about is a boost meter and the tricks required to fill it. Filling the boost is fairly simple -- you pull off certain easy tricks, such as jumping through hoops of flame, landing well after a big jump, or even landing on an opponent's head. The boost fills up pretty quickly, meaning you'll always have a reserve of extra speed nearby. It's pretty essential too, as Nail'd can wind up pretty difficult if you're not paying attention.

Steering is important, especially in the air, where you have to try and land without hitting anything dangerous. Crashing is a regular part of Nail'd, but the excess boost always gives you a fighting chance. With so much to avoid and watch out for, it's pleasant to note that the steering is really responsive and forgiving, again driving home the theme of not having to worry about anything other than the pure racing aspect.

My time with Nail'd was brief but encouraging. It's not the most refined racer out there, but it's very fast and it's pretty damn fun, which is what really matters at the end of the day. There's not really much else that needs to be said.

Vernet Thumb Tip - King Size

[[[Vernet Thumb Tip - King Size]]]

Discription : Great for magicians with large hands. Perfectly undetectable for any effect or routine that uses a thumb-tip.

More review coming soon.

King Size, Medium Size, Vinyl, Rubber, Jumbo Tip, Finger tip, the list goes on. It should be obvious which tip I use as I chose this one for my review. All of them do essentially the same thing. It depends on what your going to do with them. When buying a good thumb tip I consider 3 things. Space, durability, and how well objects slide in and out. That's right I don't even worry about how real the tip looks. If your going to do a lot of silk and hankerchief stuff you may want a rubber tip as they look more realistic than this one. The reason I prefer Vernet's King Size tip is because dollar bills and other currency slide in and out of this a lot easier. Another effect this works perfect for is vanishing a lit cigarette. You'll be able to put a cigarette out with this tip as it's a very durable type plastic. I use my tip mainly for bill switches, and street magic effects. You really shouldn't worry too much about a thumb tip matching your flesh color. Chances are you won't match this tip perfectly anyway, and unfortunatley for African Americans, magic makers are racially insensitive, as I've yet to see a black thumb tip. It doesn't matter anyway. A good thumb tip worker should be able to work with a tip made steel. Your thumb should always be concealed from the audience. If your working with dollar bills you can use them to conceal the tip from view while still showing the hand otherwise empty. This is also the size you want to get as I have smaller tips that I never use. With smaller tips folded bills were sticking out, and you couldn't load much into them. Perfect for a mismade bill routine, and will work nicely with any thumb tip routine.

E3 10: Treading in the Sea of Chaos with Deadliest Catch

06/21/2010 E3 10: Treading in the Sea of Chaos with Deadliest Catch

E3 10: Treading in the Sea of Chaos with Deadliest Catch screenshot

I do not understand, while many games based on television shows I've seen this week 's E3. I probably only superficial, for that matter, but it seems a lot. Deadliest Catch: Sea of Chaos Another such game. TV show that I t "is actually only about hearsay and taking a look, it 's about catching crabs, right?

It 's that the upcoming game is all about. Crab fishing. There is a set of mini-games in there, that a representative of this law? Yes, you are very much have the right idea, but there is a little more to this beast than that.

In Deadliest Catch: Sea of Chaos , you'll play as a ship captain seeking to profit from the lucrative but dangerous crab fishing industry. A combination of simulation elements and mini-games, it honestly looks like it could be a bit of fun for fans of games that feature a profit motivation.

That said, the gameplay of running your ship looks like it could be quite fun indeed for fans of light strategy. Finding fishing spots, reaching them and returning with your haul is fraught with risks both natural and man-made. Weather conditions will make challenges more difficult and events like crew going overboard should keep you on your toes. In addition, your actions in mini-games can affect relationships with other captains, leading them to help or hinder you with false information.

I find myself very attracted to these concepts. And the mini-games aren't terrible or anything. They are very skill-oriented, with speed and accuracy on the part of the player bringing significantly greater rewards through combo systems and time bonuses. I merely have to question if I'll have much enthusiasm for playing them after getting a few hours in.

All told, I'm curious. Deadliest Catch: Sea of ChaosCertainly exceeded my (albeit low) expectations for the title. We LL 'just to see when the game releases this fall, if the wind up being a diamond in the rough.

SpongeBob Squarepants Child's Costume, Small

[[[SpongeBob Squarepants Child's Costume, Small]]]

Discription : SpongeBob hopes to ring a call and get a bag of Krabby Patties for Halloween! SpongeBob costume features a tunic and shoe covers.

More review coming soon.

My husband and I own an ice cream business. One of the novelty items we sale is SpongeBob ice cream. We ordered the costume as and added attractraction to advertise our product. My husband constructed a wooden manikin that wears the costume and stands in front of our business. Needless to say, it draws the attention of children and adults. The costume is perfect for our needs and more.

The costume fit well for my 2.5 year old (he is rather small, 28 pounds, 37 inches tall... we got the costume size Toddler), and he got plenty of compliments from everyone who saw him on Halloween night - he was the only Spongebob around! The costume has plenty of growing room, so it would be possible to use it again next year if he wants. A good buy!

My son loved this costume. It looked really cute on him and he was able to move easily. However the shoe covers did not fit over his shoes and the second time he wore the costume it began to tear around the neck line. He was able to wear it on three separate occasions without any major wardrobe malfunctions.

E3 10: MINDJACK debut trailer takes control

06/17/2010 E3 1910: MINDJACK debut trailer takes control

E3 10: MINDJACK debut trailer takes control screenshot

We haven't heard much at all about MINDJACKuntil this year 's E3, but now we have the beginning of the trailer (see above) and on the floor game (see below). As you can see the main catch of the game is the opportunity to take the bodies of NPC in the game and then play like them. This ISN 'is really not a new concept, as was done in games like Geist and Messiah But it 's still cool mechanic, nonetheless.

I'm also hoping that the ridiculous cheesiness in the trailer above is there because the game is intentionally cheesy, but I doubt it since it's a Square Enix game. Hopefully, the quirks are good ones and not bad.

The game will be landing on Xbox 360 and PS3.

This was for my younger brother who is sooo into yo-yoing right now. It was a good information little book and he loved it. The only disappointment was that the book was soooooo thin! Like, not even an inch thick. Good anyhow though!

I like the format of the book, easy to carry around. It's easy to read and understand, it has a lot of tricks that a novice can learn also intermediate and advanced. It's practical to have all these tricks collected in such a cool way. I like it!

Book gives history of yo-yo-ing and clearly illustrates how to do the tricks as well as it gives very well written instructions. 10 yr old son has learned many a trick since Christmas by this book.

Zumba Fitness Impressions

Dance those pounds away in our first look at the latest fitness game.

Fancy new technology may be the most obvious trend at this year's E3, but if you want one type of game that's being inundated with new releases, then dancing is definitely the choice. With Just Dance 2, Dance Party, and even a Michael Jackson dancing game announced this year, it looks to be one crowded genre in the coming months. Majesco is not a company to sit on their laurels and watch everyone else jump in the pool, though. They have their own dance-themed fitness game coming out this year, set to put the many motion controllers through their paces.

Zumba is a workout regime that focuses on the pound-shedding power of dance to get people off their feet and moving around. Zumba Fitness looks to capitalize on this craze with a new game that takes advantage of the Wii Remote, Move, and Kinect, depending on your weight-loss system of choice. The game has a realistic looking dancer on screen performing hips shakes and arm sways, and you follow along in time with the music. Stay in rhythm and your in-game silhouette shines a brilliant green. Make a mistake and it becomes yellow or, if you have two left feet, even red.

There are exclusive routines and songs in this game, so even people who make their way to the local gym every Wednesday to dance in their Zumba class will find something new here. There are also multiplayer modes if you're confident enough about your abilities to shake your stuff in front of another person. A two player mode can be played on the same screen or you can challenge long-distance dancers to a dance off.

Zumba Fitness is not really a game at all, but it is a way to have fun while you lose weight. Although we certainly didn't try it out at the show with so many prying eyes judging us, it looks like another interesting entry in the genre. Stay tuned to GameSpot to see how this dance war plays out.

After playing this game at E3 , I'm quite looking forward to it. As you all know, I love a good hack n' slash title, and Sengoku Basaraseems that much more Devil Kings . It 's just a shame that it's better still cool characters such as Nobunaga died. Well.

I can't believe this game isn't out until September. I'd like it now, please!
