Silicon Knights lays off 75% of studio - Report

Too Human, developer Destiny X-Men have been called "mass layoffs", including all human resources department.

In July, the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has given developer Silicon Knights provincial grant, which stated that the study would not only protect the 97 jobs it had at the time but also add 80 employees in their workforce. Yesterday, a report emerged that the study did not only add additional costs, but rather a series of layoffs.

1UP According to a report this week, "sources close to the company," confirmed a series of job cuts that have been sweeping the study with a core team of only 25 employees . The report notes that the entire department of human resources study was included in the layoffs. Since 2000, Silicon Knights, has published a total of four games. The last X-Men: Destiny for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and DS, released in September. The action game based on the team of superheroes from Marvel Comics was greeted with derisive criticism mutant. Prior to this, Silicon Knights has 2008-Xbox 360 exclusive action sci-fi Too Human, the 2004 remake of Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes and Eternal Darkness 2002: Requiem of Health. The study also had a handful of other projects that have not seen the light of day, including the siren in the Maelstrom (the Canadian government has funded at least in part) and a draft Sega has never materialized. This game has also been linked to a major legal battle with Epic Games on the Unreal Engine 3, Engine manufacturer Silicon Knights accused of not adequately support its licensors and Epic accused the study of their so- saying from the motor home Unreal Engine 3.
