E3: Freaking out over Forza Motorsport 4 feature list

E3: Freaking out over Forza Motorsport 4 feature list screenshot

That's silly. You show me, tell me that you, and then you tell me it 's coming in October. That 'sa dick thing to do, Turn 10th I like you, but you can 't throw these shiny things in my face and expect me to be patient.

This week at E3, I sit down and listen to turn 10 's Dan Greenawalt barf a constant stream of feature revealed and refined Forza 4 Every feature he listed had me nodding in agreement and approval in the beginning. As he continued on my nods got bigger and more approving. I'm sure they were obnoxious nods. Toward the end I felt like raising my hands up in the air and shaking them in praise like they do in a gospel church service. Oh lordy!

We've already told you a bit about

Do you still have your save file from the last game? Good. Keep it. You'll get some really nice goodies in your garage as a gift.

There are several types of events to choose from. Autocross, multi-thermal and drift modes are in the mix, and you 'll find that there are now many number of cars in the race. In the multi-heat races, see 'll that one leg was in the day and another group at night. Turn 10 will keep things fresh and exciting.

A new track-day mode has seen, how can cars that can give you. The game looks on your skill and then determines how many cars you 'll need to have successfully completed to continue. In a demonstration of this mode Turn 10 's Dan Greenawalt showed the game' s fancy new AI. The AI-controlled driver passed in a very natural way, sometimes weaving, and other times aggressive whip. From what I saw, I 'm a bit scared to race against the new AI.

E3 2011: Modern Warfare 3 – Spec Ops mode preview

Keith Stuar t loves what he sees

The "Spec Ops" option was Modern Warfare 2 's nice little surprise - a series of challenges, self-contained co-op missions around maps of the campaign.

The card I've tried (there are apparently a number of survival environments in order to test) is called, Dome, and it 's in and around a - yes - dome-shaped satellite station. On one side of the card, there 's garage-like building dug into the hillside, and the other a slow rising slope.

In the middle of several thin cover points and a few small cul-de-sacs, where you can duck and extent of the bad guys that spawn from several areas, including satellite base.

In the background, the development team has added a persistent ranking feature to the mode, so you can earn experience points, rank up and earn cool new stuff as you go, just like in multiplayer. But actually, this is all separate from your multiplayer rank, so you'll have two numbers on your player card – another reason to give Specs Ops some serious attention.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – preview

The team behind it previously made the legendary Fallout 3, and the first thing it did was rewrite the game's engine, which basically means it looks absolutely stunning. Tamriel has never been more lush, and it has tricksy details such as properly modelled snow, rather than mere snow-coloured texturing. Bethesda explained that it has revamped the view in third-person mode, but it is clearly designed to operate as a first-person game, with an innovative control system in which the right trigger controls your right hand and the left trigger your left. So there's no distinction on the buttons between weapons and magic – you can equip a spell in your left hand and a sword in your right, and so on. If you equip spells in both hands, casting them simultaneously will give them a power-boost.

Playing as Dovakhiin – who, crucially, is known as The Dragonborn – you can avail yourself of one special ability at a time, accessed via Standing Stones. Naturally, whatever successful actions you perform improve your skills – there's a skills upgrade tree which is modelled on constellations in the sky, and as you level up, you unlock perks. There are more than 280 of those, plus countless skills, spells, objects and weapons but, thankfully, the inventory system looked pretty understandable and well designed – much better organised of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion's equivalent. You can bookmark favourite spells, for example, for quick access.

No RPG would be complete without a series of dungeons, and there are more than 150 in the edge of heaven. We saw a classic example with different predatory species and rival adventurers settled - it was moist and pleasing atmosphere, with the necessary chests full of loot, weapons (such as an Elven-made glass sword) and puzzles. There are also five cities in the game - we saw a type from a distance but unfortunately didn 't.

What do we think?

Sure, the necessary Skyrim Dungeons and Dragons, that major components of traditional fantasy RPGs form, but there 's nothing nerdy about it. It looks stunning, the feeling of a real, functioning world, clear and generally is an RPG-lover 's dream.

Without doubt this is the kind of game you're able to pull inexorably months. In terms of pure RPG, it represents the state of the art. If it comes out in November is possible that the last you see your RPG-loving mates to 2012.

E3 2011: Fable: The Journey Preview Updated Impressions

We get a chance to see a bit more of this magical adventure Kinect

Dogs are man 's best friend, but they have limitations. If you 're planning on a trip cross-country ski trail in, for example, it would be much more advantageous to carry you hooks up to a sturdy horse as a scrappy puppy. So don 't shed tears that your furry friend was summarily removed from the next entry in the Fable series. You have a horse after all, a fine horse with a chestnut-brown coat, and you should be glad it 's ready to move, your lazy butt all over the country. We had a chance to see the horse, and the rest of the Fable: The Journey, in action at a pre-E3 press conference. Although we didn get 't have a chance, play this game Kinect for us, we see someone else take the reins, and came away with a better understanding of what to expect.

Like the trailer shown during the Microsoft Press Conference, you begin The Journey on a horse. Well, not on the horse itself, but in a carriage behind the horse. Unlike most Kinect games, you can play this properly while sitting down. In fact, it's recommended that you are situated n a relaxed position. The Journey is supposed to replicate the experience of casually riding through the countryside, and only a fool would stand up instead of sitting down in the carriage.

The direction you take is predetermined, but the speed is up to you. By snapping your arm, you ask the horse to go forward. If you 're an uncaring bully, horse-hating, you can whip the poor animal raw. A horse has feelings like your dog in Fable, so if you 're unnecessarily cruel, it will tire of getting hurt, and build an unhealthy (but fully deserved) hatred against you. The Journey uses 'horse-welding technology, "according to Peter Molyneux, so you can see, it wilt under the pressure. Fortunately, their functions have been lower, so there are links 's no need for a horse diaper.

Driver: San Francisco – preview

A once loved, but recently tarnished franchise roars back to a bizarre form of auto-jump mechanism

In many ways, the games industry as a younger version of the film industry and a tricky problem to share what they do when a franchise loses its luster. Franchises are making a low risk from those who both movies and games, as people will commit to new rates on the reverse of what was predicted, but because they \ re made 'almost by definition, for the wrong reasons, depending longer they run, the more disappointing, they tend to be. Therefore, the term of the franchise reboot.

Driver is a typical case. The 1999 original, the racer-turned-maverick cop John Tanner was introduced, was extremely successful, but by the time the third installment - 2004 's Driv3r - were killed, his attempt to Grand Theft Auto, in that only third-person shooting It was apparently desperate to emulate, thanks to sloppy design irrecoverable. 2006 's Driver: Parallel Lines, the Tanner in favor of criminals known as Pour not more telecom felt like leaving a Driver game. And certainly the development of an identity crisis is the equivalent of a franchise suicide note?

Apparently affairs weren 't quite as desperate, after all, as a recent hands-on session with Driver: San Francisco proved pleasantly pleasing. Right from the off, you 're no doubt that this is a franchise reboot left: it practically hits you over the head with a new game mechanic.

The story picks up where Driv3r left off, with arch-criminal Tanner being transferred to court for his trial. Naturally, he pulls off a spectacular escape, to which Tanner and trusty sidekick Tobias Jones respond. They nearly catch him after an alleyway chase in Tanner's yellow Dodge Challenger, but a head-on crash seemingly leaves Tanner on the point of death. Which is where the surreal madness begins.

In one mission, for example, we have the wheel of a getaway car, the good taste of the cops evasion made engine available - the same as in GTA require you to create a circular area on the map, in the police escape is you get, but when nothing seemed more severe, both for the razor sharp driving skills and a keen eye always on the off chance cut short.

But there are plenty of proper Tanner missions: we played one which was surprisingly funny, in which he came clean to is partner Jones about his body-jumping, then had to convince him he wasn't lying by predicting then performing examples of bizarre driving by other vehicles.

All these shenanigans would have been rendered considerably less enjoyable if Driver: San Francisco had been afflicted by some of the basic problems that crept into its immediate predecessors, like imprecise car handling and dodgy graphics. But in both those respects, it is immaculate.

The graphics are super-sharp (with an instantly recognizable version of San Francisco, including pedestrians who throw themselves out of the way convincing). And the ride is judged very good, tending towards the arcade-style tail-happy, drift encouraging model - the occasional use of the hand brake is de rigueur - and yet so precise that you move out move with precision. The multiplayer aspect of the game offers something new, even as it has the car-jumping mechanic.

Driver: San Francisco, then appears an exemplary franchise reboot, at least as far as we can after an hour or so telling their controls. Developer Ubisoft Reflections's up with the quality whichits first iteration had conferred again, but who had then transpired, and it's really unlike anything else out there. Plus it has unexpected injections of humor and surrealness benefits.

Driver: San Francisco will be released for PC, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 on 2 September

X-Men Destiny First Look Preview

Overall, the demo interesting and presents some interesting ideas and gameplay. There were a number of cameos, either personally or through an X-gene. Colossus was Wolverine, Surge, Northstar, Quicksilver, Beast, Emma Frost, and Toad all represented in one brief look at the X-gene-menu, which was considerable. We expect the game will wind up with just about most of the heavy hitters for fans, and hopefully a few surprises.

The visuals in the X-Men Destiny has an interesting art direction and offer a unique interpretation of the comic book look. The environments we saw offered a solid amount of detail and interactivity, which was marked during the boss fight. The character models have been on the same line and usually in order. The various special effects used for services provided a solid complement to the action. The only item that dropped our eye was the game's color palette, which was a little more subdued than what we expected. The demo also featured some of the quirks work in progress you from a game in development, such as expecting a tricky and variable frame rate camera.

The sound was still coming together well. Some of the effects sounded a little muffled, especially during the boss fight. But the beginnings of the character voices were tapped. Colossus sounded to be given the most prominent Russian accent, fit, although according to Sublime sounded threatening.

X-Men Destiny has many interesting ideas in the game we've seen. We're curious more about how your decisions are the history and how many characters from the X-universe will affect appear in one form or another to see. We are also curious how the game will be polished for its release later this year. As we have noted, there are some rough edges to the package that we would, smoothed, had. It looks like you have X-Men Destiny some interesting ideas that make the game fun to play if they could be properly developed, although the demo has corners and edges. Looking through the game on our E3 stage show and in the months leading up to its launch later this year more.
