The "Spec Ops" option was Modern Warfare 2 's nice little surprise - a series of challenges, self-contained co-op missions around maps of the campaign.
The card I've tried (there are apparently a number of survival environments in order to test) is called, Dome, and it 's in and around a - yes - dome-shaped satellite station. On one side of the card, there 's garage-like building dug into the hillside, and the other a slow rising slope.
In the middle of several thin cover points and a few small cul-de-sacs, where you can duck and extent of the bad guys that spawn from several areas, including satellite base.
In the background, the development team has added a persistent ranking feature to the mode, so you can earn experience points, rank up and earn cool new stuff as you go, just like in multiplayer. But actually, this is all separate from your multiplayer rank, so you'll have two numbers on your player card – another reason to give Specs Ops some serious attention.
