Sony mystified by PS Vita glitch reports

Stories

indicating the first wave of Vitas PS are dysfunctional are wrong, said the giant Japanese electronics

Sony is fuming after a series of stories appeared online suggesting that PS Vitas first sold in Japan have been plagued by technical problems of generalizations, assumptions, including problems of lighting up the handheld and down and touch screens frozen.

While acknowledging that some new owners of PS Vita may have experienced malfunctions isolated, it stresses that users experience more problems than expected given that 325,000 units of the handheld were sold in its launch weekend in Japan.

David Wilson, head of public relations for Sony Computer Entertainment UK, said. "La Vita PS had a great launch and sold in large quantities, we are angry against these stories, because we can not find any evidence of widespread failures.

"The stories went on to say that Sony has issued an apology for the failures PS Vita, which is simply not true - there is no excuse for our Japanese site for people who are struggling to get through our technical support, but that's all.

"And there's a page that shows the standard procedures for food and non-PS Vita, who has been on our site since before the launch, which was presented in some reports as a way to solve the alleged technical problems. "

One wonders if those who hate hacked Sony PlayStation Network earlier this year and aimed a barrage of bile in the company (including threats to executives) are new to their old tricks.
