Review: Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D, Tactic3D Omega
Creative is one of the world's best known brands of audio equipment and PC games. "Known" does not always translate into "good", though. I had the opportunity to visit your Sound Blaster external USB audio processor and headset Recon3D Tactic3D Omega.
do these two pieces to match the name of creativity? Read on for full review.
've been a fan of Creative products for some time. In high school I bought an X-Fi card uses a child in the yard (which was not as vague as it sounds). I went home and hit that bastard in the free PCI slot that I had. After playing with some settings, I was amazed by how much more incredible was Linkin Park. Teenage angst has never sounded so good.
flash forward to my college years. I had to leave my office ATX huge back home and I became a fan of laptops. They are portable, ideal for local area networks, and consume less energy. But ... something was missing. Without a dedicated sound card, I was not getting the same push my speakers or headphones.
aa
I tried omega Tactic3D season with a set of technical DH-1200 and Sennheiser HD-280 Pros. They are all more or less the same class, and they were good for a direct comparison in terms of quality of comfort, sound and build. I used several laptops that operate under the assumption that the Recon3D was intended to replace the integrated audio on laptops.
When using the base for the first time, you must install a software creation itself. Fortunately, the swelling is not so bad, in any modern system, the average user should have no problem. That said, I took some time to find out how the software affected the quality of production compared to the same device. There is certainly a substantial boost in quality. Without it, the music run through my notebooks built-in card all fuzzy and volume. I do not feel big or hot as they do with the Recon3D.
The included software has many features. At the top of the standard equalizer, bass boost, mixer and environment settings, there are a few bits to increase the clarity of the dialogue in movies and games and an emulator environment. Overall I was very impressed with the whole package. I never heard any distortion or breakage of the audio that was already present in the source, and Recon3D comes with a button that lets you quickly switch back and forth between his wide range of parameters and the default set.
Recon3D The main selling point is, of course, surround sound emulation. Creative claims that "over 5.1 and up to 7.1" because it "imitates hundreds of people about him." Although I can not say that I really support this claim, I would say that if you take time for adjustments in the game or Recon3D and a media player of choice is a very rewarding experience.
This does not mean that there are no problems, however. The software is very comprehensive, and if the title you are watching / reading does not support surround sound, you're SOL. Whenever there is a remarkable panorama between left and right, but if you turn on the emulator surround sound, it is a little worse. The transition is difficult and rapidly kills any dive that was there.
A key feature of other Recon3D is something Creative calls "listening mode." In theory, the software analyzes the ambient noise and highlights the subtle steps so you can listen on enemies from afar. In practice, this is something like a total disaster. Take The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim , for example, the sound of insects, crashing waves and the gentle wind ABSURD aloud. The first time you turn, I honestly think that caused significant damage hearing.
think this feature could be competition for first-person shooters exclusively, which launched
I sincerely believe the basic unit is a viable alternative to Recon3D output source laptop. This is especially true if you are unlucky enough to have one that takes a lot of electromagnetic interference. Because this is running on a USB device, the output is nice and clean, unless the source is crap. If you have a desktop computer, I recommend getting a dedicated PCI or PCI-E.
